Abstract
Floor plans, elevations, and sections are three types of technical drawings used to represent architectural
designs. These drawings have a fairly complex presentation due to the inherent three-dimensional nature
of architectural designs being projected into a two-dimensional format. Floor plans, elevations, and
sections of architecture are presented following specific standards to ensure that the resulting
visualization enables readers to understand and appreciate the intricacies of the design. Human figures
are one graphic element not regulated within the standards for presenting architectural drawings.
Consequently, human figurs are typically not included in the visualization of floor plans, elevations, and
sections of architecture. Additionally, there is an assumption that human figures are merely
supplementary graphic elements with purely decorative purposes. This research investigates the function
of human figures in drawings and their impact on visualization and readers, aiming to provide an
understanding of the role of human figures in the visualization of floor plans, elevations, and sections of
architecture. The research involves literature review on architectural drawings, data collection using
samples of floor plans, elevations, and sections of architecture, and data processing through qualitative
descriptive methods. The results of this research demonstrate that human figures serve various functions
that affect the visualization and perception of drawings, thus revealing several roles they play.
